Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Physical Requirements

When you arrive at the testing center for your DOT physical examination, please be prepared to provide a urine sample, have a list of any medications you are currently taking, have your corrective lenses (glasses or contacts) and any information relating to your health history.

A DOT physical examination is valid for up to 24 months, however the medical examiner may also issue a medical certificate for less than the standard 24 months, if certain health conditions require future monitoring.

Upon passing a DOT physical the medical examiner will furnish 1 copy of the DOT physical results to the person who was examined and then complete the medical examiners certificate.

Who is required to complete a USCG 719 K/E Physical (Crewmembers)

Federal Aviation Administration Physical Requirements

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires a medical certificate under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Aviation Administration.  In order to obtain a medical certificate, you must be examined by a FAA Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).  Upon successful completion of your medical examination the AME will complete the remainder of the FAA application form and if all requirements are met, you will be issued a valid medical certificate.200schedual
